New Austrian business and convention network
Friday, January 09, 2004
With Austria, and Vienna in particular, consistently ranking among the top conference and meeting destinations world-wide, the Austrian National Tourist Office is now even further increasing its emphasis on the conference and incentive industry.

To promote Austria as a conference destination even more efficiently and to pro-actively assist organisers who are planning an event in Austria, the new Austrian Business and Convention Network (ABCN) has recently been installed. ABCN is spear-headed by Ms Inge Tremmel, who has joined ANTO after many years at the Vienna Convention Bureau. The UK conference market continues to be looked after by marketing manager Nadja Horvatek.

ABCN operates as a part of the Austrian National Tourist Office and joins forces with partner organisations such as the Austrian Convention Bureau, the Austrian Airlines Group and the Round Table Conference Hotels. ABCNs main focus is set on working more closely with conference and event planners, on responding more directly to their needs and on providing a quick and efficient service, such as the free of charge venue search service that ANTO has been successfully operating in recent years.

Poll
How do you expect luxury travel to perform in times of economic downturn?.

Providers of luxury travel products are going to witness shorter stays by their customers and an increase in seasonality.

People are going to become more value conscious and will opt for those luxury offers that represent a convincing value-for-money proposition. Providers of overpriced services are those to feel the pinch.

Both people paying for their personal trips and firms paying for their top executives' business trips will cut back on travel expenses, thus affecting all luxury travel providers.

It is going to be business as usual. Those people opting for high-end travel products are not going to be affected by the looming crisis.
