First Choice to create a major European travel force

LONDON. First Choice  has acquired Istanbul-based travel Ten Tour group at a value of  £77 million. Ten Tour owns a number of major Turkey and Egypt specialist tour operators in six European countries including Sunquest in the UK, Nazar in Germany, Taurus in Austria and Royal Vacaciones in Spain with total carryings of one million passengers! First Choice also achieved a strategic alliance with the group`s airline Onur Air, as well as its hotels. Peter Long, First Choice`s chief executive, also announced he was in talks with Barcelo Viajes, one of Spain largest travel and hotel groups. A merger between the two companies will bring First Choice in the Top 5 travel groups in Europe. These moves follow First Choice`s recent sale of 20% of its stock to Royal Caribbean Cruises.
