The Thessaloniki Convention & Visitors Bureau, TCVB<.> has released a 12-page brochure listing information on organising a conference in the northern port city.
With regards conferences and business meetings, 2001 is likely to be a special year forThessaloniki<.> . The situation is set to improve further each year so the amateurishness of some and the failure to promote Thessaloniki as a congress destination are likely to become a thing of the past.
TCVB`s efforts appear to be filling the gap in available information on the city`s conference infrastructure.
The body is the first of its type set up in Greece and has a specific methodology, specialised staff, expert advisers abroad and next month will begin to implement a business plan of action aimed at informing and attracting congress organisers.
TCVB intends to take part in numerous exhibitions, publish informational booklets, create CD-ROM and an Internet site as well as organise seminars and forums.
