Tuesday, May 04, 2004
SARS screening has been reinstated at Bangkok`s Don Muang International Airport as well as Ninoy Aquino, Mactan and Laoag International Airports in the Philippines.
The Philippine airports will screen passengers flying in from China, Hong Kong, Singapore and Taiwan for symptoms of SARS.
They will be required to fill up a health form and go through thermal scanning.
Thailand`s public health minister Sudarat Keyurphan said body-temperature detection equipment had been re-installed in the international arrivals terminal.
Both Thai Airways International and Air China operate daily flights between Beijing and Bangkok, bringing in around 1,000 passengers a day.
China has confirmed two new cases of SARS, with one death and six suspected cases.
