Worldspan announced that all of Northwest Airlines and KLM Royal Dutch Airlines’ publicly available fares, including fares available via Northwest’s reservations offices and its Web site at www.nwa.com, are available to Worldspan’s online travel agency customers in the United States.
Online travel agencies supported by the Worldspan global distribution system (GDS) can now offer their customers Northwest’s full fare content for all travel originating in the U.S. and the Caribbean, a benefit Worldspan’s traditional travel agencies have enjoyed since September 2003.
“The expanded access of Northwest’s fare content to our online agencies is the result of Worldspan’s continued efforts to deliver value to all of our customers,” said Ninan Chacko, senior vice president – e-Commerce and Product Planning for Worldspan. “We recognize airlines need to reduce distribution costs and this agreement accomplishes that for Northwest while providing them with broader distribution opportunities through Worldspan’s leading online channel.”
“This agreement makes it possible for even more consumers to take advantage of Northwest’s attractive Web fares,” said Al Lenza, vice president of distribution and e-commerce at Northwest Airlines. “We continue to expand the flying public’s access to Northwest fares through distribution channels that support our efforts to continue to reduce our distribution expenses.”
