JW Marriott launches innovative new meetings product
Tuesday, August 10, 2004
Following on from the Marriott International Taste the Future food and beverage workshop, which took place at the JW Marriott Dubai in May, the creative catering team at the hotel have come up with a series of coffee breaks to touch the senses.

Devised to provide the ultimate break out, the new coffee breaks have been designed to invigorate, relax, clear the mind and energise.

Each coffee break works around a colour theme; red, blue, green or black and white. Then using the colour as a template, the team has looked at what each colour represents and what senses and emotions it evokes, bringing in audio-visual, innovative food designs and aromatherapy.

Red
Dazzling red foods, centred on red melons, tomatoes, strawberries, chillies, and red ices create a scintillating scarlet soiree. Plasma screens display images of suns, flowers, volcanic eruptions and red planets for a truly transcendental break out.

Green
Lemons, lime, grapes, peppers and a whole host of salads provide a refreshing coffee break. Audio-visual displays of rain forests and tropical plants, teamed up with the hum of cicadas over the sound system and the smell of mint and grass, take you back to nature.

Blue
The sounds and images of crashing waves and the scent of sea salt spray add a truly oceanic feel to provide a break out of the blue. Blueberry muffins, grapes, olives, bring the azure blue sky to the coffee break table.

Black and white
Black and white swathes of cloth, enveloping the room from floor to ceiling, and black and white marble flooring adds a hint of crazy sophistication to this coffee break. If it’s black and white then coffee, and chocolate, have to take centre stage. A complete break from the norm, guaranteed to increase your concentration for the meeting ahead.

Scents for the senses
Professional aroma columns are used during the themed coffee breaks. Supplied by Valentino of Germany, the columns provide fragrances in keeping with the mood of the meeting, for instance citrus and mint aromas aid concentration. The fragrances are based on 100% natural oil.
Aromatherapy provides a feeling of comfort and welcome for all guests holding meetings at the JW Marriott Dubai.
