Bologna Tourist Day
Friday, August 13, 2004
From 24th to 27 September the 2nd Tourist Day will take place in Bologna. It is a festival created to celebrate the Word Tourism Day (27 September), an event introduced by the World Tourism Organization of the United Nations) to promote tourism worldwide.

The Tourist Day has a rich programme specifically designed for tourism and its aim is to present the friendliness of Bologna and its province to an international public.

Tourists who will visit Bologna during these days will receive a special Tourist Passport which will provide them with the opportunity to enjoy several services at a special rate: accommodation in hotels that adhere to the Bologna Tourist day, restaurants with traditional menu, museums, shopping and public transport.

This year the Tourist Day presents some important new features: the festival extends from one to four days (from Monday to Friday) and will involve Bologna and the whole province with a main theme: Music.

As from the end of August a detailed programme with a list of accommodation facilities, shops, museums and restaurants participating to this festival will be available from the Bologna Tourism office.

Poll
How do you expect luxury travel to perform in times of economic downturn?.

Providers of luxury travel products are going to witness shorter stays by their customers and an increase in seasonality.

People are going to become more value conscious and will opt for those luxury offers that represent a convincing value-for-money proposition. Providers of overpriced services are those to feel the pinch.

Both people paying for their personal trips and firms paying for their top executives' business trips will cut back on travel expenses, thus affecting all luxury travel providers.

It is going to be business as usual. Those people opting for high-end travel products are not going to be affected by the looming crisis.
