More Britons set to visit Greece in 2001
Monday, November 20, 2000
Greece can expect around 2.5 million British tourists in 2001, UK tourism industry representatives suggested during the recent World Travel Market in London.

Hellenic Tourism Organisation (EOT<.>) general secretary Evgenios Yiannakopoulos met with British industry representatives at the exhibition who assured him there would be a rise in the number of UK tourists to Greece.

Greece`s Aegean Minister Nikos Sifounakis handed awards to three British companies specialising in travel to Greece in an effort to boost tourist traffic to the Greek islands following the tragic Express Samina shipwreck and ensuing problems in the coastal shipping sector. The three firms acknowledged were Kosmar, Laskarina and Argo.
