Dusseldorf: new Ice Arena to open in August 2006
Monday, November 22, 2004
Dusseldorf, the capital of North-Rhine Westphalia will be opening a new, multipurpose event centre in August 2006 to consolidate its reputation as a venue for big sports events and good image as a dorado of fashion, fairs, meetings and advertising. In 2005 construction work will start on the new multipurpose centre on a former industrial site in the suburb of Rath. Until a proper name is found, it will go by its working title of Eisarena (ice arena).
DusseldorfCongress Veranstaltungsgesellschaft mbH, which already successfully operates six convention, meeting and event venues in Dusseldorf, has been appointed to market the centre. The decisive factor for appointing DusseldorfCongress was its synergy potential which enables it to contribute personnel and material resources from its event pool as a subsidiary of Dusseldorf Fair (50%) and the city (50%). In addition it has long experience in operating and marketing various event venues with needs as diverse as the event mix.
