Travelogue on Greek history
Wednesday, December 27, 2000
'Travelling through time' is the title of a pictorial featuring historical sites throughout Greece which was recently released by the Hellenic Tourism Organisation (EOT<.>).

The publication presents portrayals of sites as seen through the eyes of artistically gifted visitors.

EOT general secretary Evgenios Yiannakopoulos said the volume, a collaborative effort involving EOT, its marketing department and the University of Crete, could act as 'an ambassador for Greece'. He said it featured both old and new artworks, such as 18th century gravures as well as modern paintings, in line with its title.

'Travelling through time', with an initial print run of 160,000, is available in eight languages namely Greek, English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Russian and Dutch. It can be purchased from EOT offices in Greece and abroad as well as Greek embassies and consulates.

Yiannakopoulos noted that the pictures would be recorded in digital format in order to enable all interested parties to access them.
