Tourism activities in Peru continue as normal despite police problem in Andahuaylas

Tourism activities in Peru continue to operate on a completely normal schedule and as is usual in these months considered to be high season for travelers.
This is in spite of the police problem that has occurred over the past two days in Andahuaylas, a town 900 km southeast of Lima, where a militarist group took over the police station.
It is a police problem that is being closely monitored by the Government through the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, but it is focalized only in one section of the town of Andahuaylas and does not involve any tourism destination, said Carlos Zamorano, general manager of the Commission for the Promotion of Peru (PromPeru).
