Businessmen from Macedonia's travel industry recently established Skal<.> Macedonia of Greece with the intention of developing stronger ties within the tourism community in a period of intense competitiveness and globalisation.

The new entity is to include members of Thessaloniki's and Halkidiki's hotel owners association, as well as representatives of the Thessaloniki Convention & Visitors Bureau, HELEXPO, the Association of Managing Directors of Thessaloniki and Halkidiki and at least 15 travel-related companies in the greater Macedonian region will also take part. Mr. Stathopoulos from the "Kapsis" Hotel was appointed as president and following him Mr. G. Doukas will assume the position of Vice-President.

Moreover, Christos Geroukas is to take on the position of General Secretary and Theodora Stathopoulou was appointed as Treasurer.
