SN Brussels Airlines adds frequencies to Prague and Budapest
Friday, January 21, 2005
SN Brussels Airlines anticipates the increasing market demand by offering extra frequencies and capacity to Prague and Budapest. Thousands of extra seats are available on the popular routes to the new EU Member States Czech Republic and Hungary.

In May last year, the Czech Republic and Hungary became member of the European Union. This resulted in an immediate increase in business and diplomatic traffic between the European capital and the capitals of both countries.

Prague and Budapest also attract more city trippers. According to the latest figures from the Belgian tour operators association ABTO Budapest was the number 1 growth destination during summer 2004. More and more tourists discover the excellent wellness facilities and the cultural richness of the Hungarian capital. Prague, already a popular city trip destination for over ten years now, is still booming and welcomed 40 pct more Belgian visitors last year.

SN Brussels Airlines anticipates the increasing demand by offering more frequencies and capacity to both Central European cities. The new flights offer more flexibility, allow longer stays and also enhance onward connection possibilities on SN`s dense European network.

Prague

Starting the 7th of March, three extra weekly flights between Brussels and Prague are scheduled (Monday, Wednesday, Friday).

As of the 26th of March, even 6 extra weekly late afternoon / evening flights will be operated (all days except Saturday) with SN`s comfortable Avro RJ 85 aircraft. The new flights allow citytrippers to spend an entire day in Prague or Brussels.

In total more than 34.000 extra seats are available on the route this year. Thanks to the partnership with Czech Airlines, up to 6 daily flights are now offered between the EU capital and Prague.

Budapest

As of the 7th of March, three extra weekly flights (Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday late afternoon departure Brussels, evening departure Budapest) are operated on the Brussels-Budapest route. As a result, business travellers and tourists can spend more time in Budapest or Brussels. SN adds more than 19.000 seats to this route and offers now in partnership with Malev up to four daily connections.

How do you expect luxury travel to perform in times of economic downturn?.

Providers of luxury travel products are going to witness shorter stays by their customers and an increase in seasonality.

People are going to become more value conscious and will opt for those luxury offers that represent a convincing value-for-money proposition. Providers of overpriced services are those to feel the pinch.

Both people paying for their personal trips and firms paying for their top executives' business trips will cut back on travel expenses, thus affecting all luxury travel providers.

It is going to be business as usual. Those people opting for high-end travel products are not going to be affected by the looming crisis.
