Airtours to close 120 of its retail branches in the uk

Airtours<.> plc, Britain`s leading holiday company decided this week to shake-up its distribution chain by closing down 120 of its 840 branches in the UK.

Mr Harris, Airtours retail managing director, blamed duplication between `Going Places` and `Travelworld` brands in the same cities as well his `intention to close down unprofitable shops`.

During the same shake up, there a retail board reshuffle, including the replacement of sales, marketing and retail operation directors.
On announcement of the news on Friday, Airtours price fell by 2.36%.
