Monday, April 25, 2005
A trade show and cocktail reception to promote travel to the hot destinations of Central and Eastern Europe, hosted by Rail Europe in conjunction with participating tourist offices and travel suppliers, will be held in New York on Wednesday, May 11 at the Sky Club in the MetLife building in midtown Manhattan. Admission to the trade show and reception is free to travel agents, but advance registration is required.

Participating in The Other Europe: Focus on Travel trade show are the national tourist offices of Austria, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Romania, Slovakia and Slovenia, as well as suppliers with informative exhibits on airlines, hotel groups and river cruise lines. Rail Europe has been the pioneer in offering rail travel products throughout the Central and Eastern European area, and is the largest distributor of European rail products in North America. Something new and affordable for repeat travelers to Europe

We`re offering this trade show to give agents an opportunity to learn more about this increasingly popular region, ideal for their repeat travelers to Europe who are looking for something new and something affordable, said Fabrice Morel, President and CEO of the Rail Europe Group. The countries of Central and Eastern Europe are showing the highest growth rates in tourism to the Continent. And our rail and Rail `n Drive products are the most convenient and comfortable ways to explore this fascinating region.

Poll
How will the currently developing financial crisis and oil prices rally affect the tourism industry?.

they will have temporary and minimal effect and the situation will stabilize in a year or two

we should be looking at a restructuring in the international tourism movements and trends

it is still too early to access the impact on world tourism, medium or long term

we will see more tourism closer to home, and less international travel
