SN Brussels Airlines starts new Glasgow - Brussels scheduled service
Friday, June 10, 2005
A daily link is established between Glasgow, at the heart of Scotland, and the Capital of Europe thanks to SN Brussels Airlines. From now on SN will be flying nine times per week between Scotland and Belgium. The flight schedule is attractive for both business travellers and tourists.

The start of the new scheduled service was celebrated today with ceremonies at the Brussels and Glasgow airports. Until now SN Brussels Airlines has not offered flights to Scotland. Recent studies into travelling patterns clearly indicate that both in the business world and with tourists, there is a strong demand for flights between Glasgow and the European capital. So far Glasgow has not had a direct connection with Brussels airport.

The flight timetable makes time-sensitive business trips, long weekends, cultural visits and holidays by plane possible in both Glasgow/Scotland and Brussels/Belgium. Morning, evening and midday flights will provide connections between Scotland and numerous other SN destinations in Europe, the United States and Africa.

This new route gives Glasgow a perfect link with the European continent and a rapid connection with SN`s European and intercontinental network, says SN Brussels Airlines CEO Peter Davies. Thanks to our short transfer times we have an ideal flight product for anyone who wants to travel between Glasgow and Germany, Switzerland, the Czech Republic, Poland, Hungary, Austria, Italy, France or Spain. This new connection is also excellent news for the growing conference business and for tourism in Scotland.

The flights will take 1h 40 min. On board of the Avro RJ Jet passengers will enjoy quality meals, drinks and newspapers. Business Class travellers have free lounge access both in Brussels And Glasgow. Thanks to the loyalty programme Privilege passengers can earn and redeem miles on this new route and more than 700 other destinations.

The new SN Brussels Airlines flights will enable more than 40,000 people to travel between Glasgow and Brussels this year.
