The first Locke branded aparthotel opened on Leman Street on 24th October in London’s Aldgate district and feature 105 studios and 63 one-bedroom suites.
LONDON – JLL Project Management has unveiled the first in a series of new aparthotels it has provided project management services on behalf of SACO, The Serviced Apartment Company. Mutually combining the design elements of a boutique hotel with the convenience of serviced apartments, the new Locke brand – named after the philosopher John Locke – are designed to reflect the culture of the neighbourhood in which they are located and immerse guests in the local area.
Commenting on the project, Wayne Allison, Director from JLL’s project management team, said: “We are delighted and excited to be working on SACO’s Locke brand. This is a highly innovative new aparthotel concept in the business travel arena and we look forward to rolling-out further Locke properties.”

The first Locke branded aparthotel opened on Leman Street on 24th October in London’s Aldgate district and feature 105 studios and 63 one-bedroom suites. Leman Locke will also offer two meeting rooms, a gym, bar, all day dining facilities, cycle facilities, large amounts of indoor and outdoor lounge area and ultrafast Wi-Fi. The building will also achieve a BREEAM Excellent rating.
In response to this growing segment of hospitality, JLL have invested significantly in a broad range of speciality services that have a unique understanding of the sector and the intricacies that encapsulate this segment. This includes extensive knowledge in; advisory, capital works, cost management, project management, transactions and more recently Serviced Apartment investment consultancy. JLL’s project management team are delighted to continue working with SACO on other Locke Brand projects located in Edinburgh, London, and Cambridge encompassing 800 units in total.
SACO have announced further Locke properties are set to be rolled out across the UK and Europe from 2017.
