KLM Royal Dutch Airlines announces return to MIA

Through March 23, 2017, KLM will operate flights on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays between MIA and its Schiphol Airport hub on Airbus A330-200 aircraft, with 30 seats in World Business Class seats and 213 seats in Economy Class.

KLM Royal Dutch Airlines announced today that it will begin three weekly flights from Miami International Airport to Amsterdam, beginning on October 30, 2016. Through March 23, 2017, KLM will operate flights on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays between MIA and its Schiphol Airport hub on Airbus A330-200 aircraft, with 30 seats in World Business Class seats and 213 seats in Economy Class.

The seasonal service is a return to MIA for KLM, which last served the global gateway hub in 2011. KLM will join existing MIA carrier Arkefly as the second airline to provide service from Miami to Schiphol – the 14th-busiest airport in the world for total passengers and the fourth busiest for international travelers, according to Airports Council International’s 2015 preliminary world airport traffic rankings. Amsterdam is the capital and most populous city of the Netherlands, as well as one of the top financial centers in Europe. KLM merged with Air France in 2004 to form the Air France-KLM Group, one of Europe’s leading airline partnerships.

We look forward to welcoming KLM and its award-winning service back to MIA,” said Miami-Dade Aviation Director Emilio T. González. “Their three weekly flights to Amsterdam will provide more options for travelers between our two busy markets and further expand our growing network throughout Europe.”

KLM Royal Dutch Airlines was founded in 1919 to serve the Netherlands and its colonies, and is today the oldest airline still operating under its original name.
