Sabre’s new mobile platform will support business travelers’ needs, drive compliance and lower costs for corporations

New open platform for corporate travel will offer integrated corporate booking capabilities mid-trip via mobile.

SOUTHLAKE, TEXAS – A smarter business travel experience is coming soon as Sabre Corporation announced it is developing an integrated product platform to power itinerary management, policy compliant booking mid-trip, and payment and expense management, all on the traveler's mobile device.

Sabre is integrating several best-in-class products into one intuitive mobile platform: the leading online booking capabilities of GetThere, the award-winning itinerary management of TripCase, Sabre's innovative Virtual Payments solution, as well as relationships with industry leading expense management services. The new solution will simplify the travel management process and enhance business traveler satisfaction while improving corporate travel program compliance and reducing costs for corporations.

Managing highly-complex travel programs requires flexibility and scalability. And Sabre's product platform is an industry-leading solution, providing the ability to integrate with any expense provider, giving the long-term flexibility of an open environment. Corporations and travelers benefit from a seamless import of their booking, payment, and expense data into their preferred expense management solution.

"Controlling and managing travel expenses is important for any corporation. But that's not enough," said Clinton Anderson, senior vice president of strategy and traveler experience for Sabre. "Travel is a significant corporate investment. Companies need to maximize the value of that investment by using technology that will make business travel easier for the travelers and smarter for the corporation."

Enhancing the traveler experience throughout the trip is a key objective of the solutions integrated into the product platform.  A new traveler survey, The Digital Business Traveler, recently launched by Sabre and the GBTA Foundation, explores how business travelers use technology. The results show that business travelers look to technology to make business travel an easier, more seamless experience but they are forced to use multiple apps and services to manage their trip from beginning to end. Sabre's objective is to provide a single place to manage all trips.

"As the GBTA study shows, the proliferation of corporate travel tools and apps creates challenges for both the traveler and the travel program. That's why we're making a significant investment in a new integrated platform to provide one seamless experience. It's going to be a better experience for the business traveler. And because it helps them be more compliant and lower transaction costs, it's a better solution for travel managers, too. It's a solution that our industry needs and we're excited to be leading the charge," said Anderson.
