UK first new travel service allows luggage check in from your front door

From the doorstep of a passengers home, the hotel lobby or desk in the City, the AirPortr + Bag Check-In service with British Airways enables passengers to travel completely luggage free, until they reach baggage reclaim at their destination.

AirPortr, the London based travel technology start up, in partnership with British Airways, has launched AirPortr + Bag Check-In. This ‘game-changing’ new service for passengers, allows travellers to check in their luggage remotely from anywhere in London to their destination airport. 

From the doorstep of a passengers home, the hotel lobby or desk in the City, the AirPortr + Bag Check-In service with British Airways enables passengers to travel completely luggage free, until they reach baggage reclaim at their destination.

This new service is a step-change in the passenger air travel experience. British Airways passengers flying from London will, for the first time, have the opportunity to experience the next generation of seamless travel and a further step towards an end-to-end customer journey. Perfect for those who seek to avoid the conundrum faced by what to do with bags with a late flight or early hotel check-out and freeing up some valuable time to make to most of the day by squeezing in that extra business meeting or doing some last minute sight-seeing. Equally travellers can wave goodbye to the stress of dragging heavy luggage onto the tube, bus or train during rush hour and arrive at the airport calm, relaxed and ready to start their journey. 

Philip Osmond, British Airways’ director of airport transformation said: “We are always looking at innovative ways in which to give our customers more choice and improve their journeys. We are excited to launch this exclusive service, delivered by AirPortr, which will offer an even smoother travel experience.”

AirPortr will deliver any size or weight item of luggage to London Heathrow, London Gatwick and London City Airport with bags checked in from a London address.
