Venice becomes Budapest Airport’s latest destination with easyJet

Budapest will now serve 10 airports in Italy – including Rome (Fiumicino and Ciampino), Milan (Bergamo and Malpensa), Bari, Naples, Catania, Pisa and Bologna.

Having already celebrated 14 new links during this summer season, Budapest Airport lines up another network enhancement and has announced easyJet’s first link to Italy from the capital city airport. Seeing an attractive gap in the market, the low-cost-carrier (LCC) will be connecting Budapest to Venice Marco Polo Airport – the city’s main airport – with a thrice-weekly service from 31 October.

Commenting on the new service, Balazs Bogats, Head of Airline Development, Budapest Airport said: “easyJet’s announcement is great news for Budapest Airport and lovers of the Italian lifestyle alike. With more than 16,000 indirect passengers last year, easyJet’s connection to the famous culture of one of Italy’s largest leisure destinations is clearly in high demand.”

Budapest will now serve 10 airports in Italy – including Rome (Fiumicino and Ciampino), Milan (Bergamo and Malpensa), Bari, Naples, Catania, Pisa and Bologna – easyJet’s additional capacity will see the Hungarian gateway offer over 11,000 seats each week to Italy on these 10 services. The LCC now operates seven routes from Hungary, the airline’s first route to Italy from Budapest joining London Gatwick, Berlin, Paris, Lyon, Basel and Geneva on the carrier’s network.
