Xanterra Parks & Resorts and Austin Adventures launch Privel

Unparalleled and rarified luxury experiences and journeys wovering the worlds of culture, music, entertainment and discovery.

GREENWOOD VILLAGE, Colo. – In this year when Americans and the world are rediscovering the national parks during the National Park Service centennial, Xanterra Parks & Resorts, the largest operator of resorts and lodges in the U.S. national parks and owner of multiple global tour operators specializing in active travel, is introducing discriminating travelers to a world of rarified journeys in culture, music, entertainment and travel.

Called Privel (pri-vell), the new brand takes advantage of the broad range of assets available through Xanterra Parks & Resorts, which include highly recognized award-winning global tour operators Austin Adventures, VBT biking and walking tours, Holiday Vacations, Country Walkers and CW Safaris, the historic Grand Canyon Railway and Hotel, and operations in some of the most iconic national parks including Yellowstone, Grand Canyon, Glacier, Crater Lake, Zion, Death Valley, Mt. Rushmore and Rocky Mountain.

"To put this into perspective, Privel is a custom-tailored experience providing truly unique and once-in-a-lifetime opportunities to embrace and witness the beauty, soul, inspiration and wonder that mankind and nature can create," said Andrew Todd, CEO of Xanterra Parks & Resorts. "This is a 12-day private VIP tour of the country's greatest national parks concluding with a Las Vegas show by a legendary performer. We can make those experiences a reality, plus many more."

Dan Austin, President of Austin Adventures, a Xanterra brand that specializes in customized upscale active travel journeys, has personally curated the first Privel experience named The Majestic American West: Park to Park Journey – a private trip discovering the majestic national parks in the Western U.S. taking place Sept.18-29, 2016.

Limited to eight people, the 12-day private journey to the national parks in the Western U.S. will deliver the best each park has to offer, topped off by local experts, sights and activities to drive memories and images that even Ansel Adams would envy.

The intimate private discovery trip visits Death Valley, Yosemite, Crater Lake, Glacier, Yellowstone, Grand Teton, Zion and the Grand Canyon. Guests will experience a photo expedition in Yosemite that walks in the footsteps of Ansel Adams and pair wines and nature with the group's sommelier and exquisite gourmet meals; board a classic 1930s red bus in Glacier; and ride a historic train with a dome and observation car all pulled by a vintage steam engine from the Grand Canyon.

Astronomers will explain the mysteries of the night skies; acknowledged environmentalists will take guests on behind-the-scenes tours of the Grizzly & Wolf Discover Center in Yellowstone. Private hot air balloons will embrace the solitude and beauty of Grand Teton before you float down the Snake River on an American safari. The Zion Virgin River Narrows is yours – rated one of National Geographic's Top 5 Best Adventures in the U.S., and then there is the helicopter to Supai Village in the Grand Canyon – a truly rare experience. And when the journey returns to Las Vegas (where it all started), celebrate with an exceptional dinner and Celine Dion concert.

"The assets of these collective companies touch the lives and passions of millions of travel, sports and entertainment enthusiasts through world-class properties and venues. We can offer curated access to art, travel, culture and the wonders of the world," added Todd.

"From Vermont to South Africa, from the Mediterranean Sea to the Colorado River, from Tahiti to Croatia, we can offer new, unique and wondrous ways to see the world and the best it has to offer in a very personal way," continued Todd.
