Air Europa adds SafetyPay as a payment method

This payment method is being used for the markets in Mexico, Peru, Austria, Germany and The Netherlands.

MADRID – Air Europa, the airline company in the Globalia group, has included SafetyPay as a method of payment that allows a transaction to be made in local currency, directly and safely, in cash or by bank transfer, without the user having to provide their bank information to a third party when purchasing an airline ticket through a Call Center.

Since the end of January this method of payment has been used in the Call Center for the destinations of Mexico and Peru, and recently Austria, Germany and The Netherlands have also been incorporated.

The manager of Air Europa’s Call Center, Maria Jesus del Hoyo, said, “we believe the alliance with SafetyPay will make us more competitive in the markets where we operate, expanding payment alternatives and facilitating sales to the public, especially in the Americas, where a large segment of the population does not have a card or a bank account.”

Gabriel Sinopoli, Chief Executive Officer of Europa said, “this is an excellent alternative in Latin America, where the number of people with bank accounts is lower than 40%. With our payment tool, Air Europa substantially improves its positioning in international markets.”

Asuncion connects Madrid non-stop to Caracas, Lima, Santa Cruz de la Sierra, Salvador de Bahia, Sao Paulo, Montevideo, Asuncion and Buenos Aires. The company also has direct flights to Santo Domingo, Havana, New York, Miami, Puerto Rico, Cancun and Punta Cana. This June, the new Madrid-Bogota route will be added to these destinations, and in December it will also start flying to Guayaquil, Ecuador. The airline company in the Globalia group also operates in important destinations in Europe, North Africa, and Asia.
