Airport Parking & Hotels celebrates successful first year of operations at state-of-the-art car park at London Gatwick

The new car park is now located just 3.9 miles away from the airport and easily accessible via the Junction 10 exit on the M23 motorway.

The award-winning Airport Parking & Hotels (APH) has celebrated the first anniversary of its new state-of-the-art car park serving London’s Gatwick Airport.

Following nearly four decades at the former site in Snow Hill, APH moved its operations to the new site on Copthorne Road in November 2018, providing APH Gatwick’s customers with shorter and faster transfer times to both the North and South Terminal via shuttle buses.

The new car park is now located just 3.9 miles away from the airport and easily accessible via the Junction 10 exit on the M23 motorway.

After parking at the fully manned and barrier-controlled car park, customers are greeted by friendly uniformed staff, who check-in their car and move each vehicle to a safe and secure parking space within APH’s security-protected parking facilities. Customers then board the next available transfer bus to the North or South Terminal, with the journey taking just 10-12 minutes. Buses run every 15 minutes and those who require assistance with heavy luggage can also receive APH’s help with loading to and from the shuttle bus.

For peace of mind while away, APH’s new site at Gatwick Airport is fully equipped with the latest in security technology and is staffed 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. The car park includes complete CCTV coverage, high-tech sensors, security fencing and full floodlighting over the entire site. It’s therefore no surprise that the car park was officially issued the Park Mark Safer Parking Award by the British Parking Association. The award is a police-approved accolade presented to car parks that have measures in place to ensure the safety of people and vehicles. Furthermore, the new site recently won the Independent Airport Parking Association’s (IAPA) award for the best Park and Ride site in the UK.

The new location of APH Gatwick will allow APH to cut its buses’ fuel consumption by almost 1.2 million litres over the coming decade and drop CO2 emissions by 2,100 tonnes. Furthermore, the reception building at APH Gatwick’s new site is fitted with photovoltaic roof panels, which convert sunlight into power.

Nick Caunter, Managing Director of Airport Parking and Hotels said: “We are proud to celebrate the one-year anniversary of our new location at Gatwick Airport. This car park has allowed APH to take its award-winning service and nearly four decades of experience to an even higher level over the last year and provide our customers with shorter transfer times and more advanced high-tech security features.”

It appears that long-term customers of APH are also fans of the new site, with a customer from East Wittering sharing the following Reevoo-verified review: “Yet again another excellent experience with APH. New location and facilities are great, and the care provided for your car is also brilliant.”

Established in 1980, APH offers parking at all major UK airports as well as overnight stays at airport hotels and access to airport lounges. In November 2019, APH was declared the winner of the ‘Best Airport Parking’ category for an impressive 10th year running at the British Travel Awards 2019.
