Azamara achieves record sales in the UK this year

Azamara Quest

The reinforced UK sales team is reaching more agents than ever before and driving record booking numbers, as the line targets further growth this Wave season.

LONDON – Azamara, the small-ship cruise line renowned for Destination Immersion and Extended Destination Days, is celebrating its most successful sales year on record in the UK, with guest volumes up over 20% and a revenue increase of over 30% when compared to 2022.

These results follow a period of significant investment from Azamara in the UK market. Now with an expanded sales team, with Moira Gregson and Adam Morris joining as Business Development Managers, Azamara is reaching more UK agents than ever before and surpassing previous performance levels.

Stuart Pearce, Head of Trade Sales UK at Azamara comments: “Our travel agent community is pivotal to our success, and we could not be more grateful for their continued support this year. Now with the right resources in place, the team can deliver enhanced support and continue growing our network, resulting in more partners choosing to book with Azamara.

For example, we had a greater presence at industry events this year, with the team engaging with over three and a half thousand agents at conferences alone. We also invited agents onboard to experience the Azamara product first-hand, during a series of ship visits around the British Isles and an intimate seminar at sea, and received fantastic feedback from everyone that joined us”.

David Duff, Managing Director UK at Azamara adds: “It’s been a phenomenal sales year for us, with country-intensive itineraries, seven-night plus sailings and long-haul destinations, including Japan and South Africa proving to be extremely popular. We are already seeing great demand for 2024, with European sailings across all four ships selling well, and are on course to exceed these records once more next year”.

Azamara is committed to carrying this momentum forward, and to continue driving sales into the new year with the launch of its Wave season offer – giving travellers up to 20% off per stateroom on select sailings between 1 April and 31 December 2024, when booked between 6 December 2023 and 21 March 2024.

With this special wave offer, Azamara invites guests to bid farewell to the hustle and bustle and savour more extraordinary moments in each destination. Extended Destination Days give travellers more time in port to explore and expand their horizons, whether they are swimming in the waters of Cleopatra’s Island in Turkey or taking a gondola up Nevis Mountain in Scotland.

Travellers can save on Azamara sailings such as:

  • 7-Night Greece Intensive Voyage onboard Azamara Journey: Starting 6 July 2024, travellers will set sail from Athens to explore the country’s rich history and charming islands. This sailing features Extended Destination Days in every port, allowing a total of 70+ hours to destinations such as Santorini, Crete, Rhodes, Patmos, and Mykonos.
  • 8-Night Wine and Culture Voyage onboard Azamara Quest: Setting sail 3 September 2024, this voyage offers special gastronomic experiences including guided tours to some of the best cider houses and restaurants in Gijon, Spain, tastings of Porto’s famous port wine, and festive meals of traditional tapas in the Old Town of La Coruña, Spain.
