As the start of the new business season approaches in the Middle East, the region`s corporate meeting planners and conference organisers are being offered fresh incentives to stage their overseas events on the shores of Lake Geneva in Switzerland.

Recently named as the country`s top hotel for the second year running, the Beau-Rivage Palace<.> in Lausanne has launched a new and enhanced meetings programme specifically designed to appeal to its growing list of major Middle East clients.

Specially tailored packages for meeting, incentive and convention oganisers capitalise on the hotel`s superb lakeside location overlooking the Swiss and French Alps, and a state-of-the-art conference centre, which was built as part of a $70 million renovation.

We`ve used our wealth of experience in staging conferences and a wide range of corporate occasions to develop a meetings programme designed to give every event an individual identity, and make it a success, said Christian Marich, general manager of the Beau-Rivage Palace.

We have a special understanding of the needs of Middle East clients, whether they are major corporations, individual business or leisure travellers, and a great deal of research and hard work has gone into developing our meetings programme for the new business season.

Options include chartered cruises on Lake Geneva for groups of 35 to 400 people, and Alpine excursions for 100 to 1,000 people, taking in folklore music, crossbow shooting, and a variety of other traditional Alpine entertainment.

An added attraction is that the hotel can now offer private functions aboard the lake`s most famous steamboat, Montreux, which was built as far back as 1904 and relaunched recently after a $6.8 million refurbishment.

Named the No.1 hotel in Switzerland for the second year in succession by the leading Swiss economic magazine, `Bilanz`, the Beau-Rivage Palace has e-mail (info@brp.ch) and telephone (00 41 21 613 33 33) hotlines for those seeking more details of its meetings programme.

Middle East corporate clients, including leading names from the oil, gas and finance sectors, are attracted by the hotel`s exquisite service, and a convenient location at the crossroads of Europe, between France, Germany and Italy.

A relaxed and discreet setting, in a private, ten-acre lakeside park, makes the hotel a superb venue for business and leisure. The conference centre offers the latest audio visual facilities, including video conferencing and simultaneous translation, while golf, tennis, mountain bike riding, archery and swimming are among a long list of pursuits available to guests.

Geneva International Airport is just 35 minutes away by road or rail, and the hotel boasts a fleet of chauffeur-driven limousines for transfers.
