The second drill for the Guangzhou New Baiyun International Airport will be held Tuesday.

Different from the first drill in May, airline companies, flight control and flight zone administration tests will be the main objective of the drill.

The second drill is to solve minor problems found during the first drill in power supply, public address system and flight arrival and departure procedures.

The drill is also important for obtaining state approval of the new airport on June 25 and 26.

Experts and officials from the General Administration of Civil Aviation of China, said the 94 projects related to the new airport were found be to up to standard Saturday after a three-day appraisal. The previous inspections in late April related to the flight zone, flight control and aircraft parking.

All the flight zones and flight control test results were rated excellent, while trials of China Southern Airlines` cargo aircraft parking were rated up to standard, according to experts.Car parking space at the airport will be doubled from the existing 200,000 square meters.

Construction of the first phase of the airport will continue until 2010. A new 3,200-meter-long runway will be finished in the second phase of construction from 2010 to 2020.

The new airport will open early in July.
