Starting in 2007, the EURAIL GROUP G.I.E. will beef up its extensive product range with more passes and country combinations. Eurail’s National Passes will add Benelux (Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxemburg), Croatia, Ireland, Italy and Portugal on January 1, increasing the total number of passes to 15 (including existing National Passes for Denmark, Finland, Greece, Holland, Hungary, Norway, Poland, Romania, Spain and Sweden).

The Eurail Regional Pass, created three years ago to allow unlimited travel in two bordering countries, will also have more countries on offer. In 2007, customers will be able to choose Austria and Hungary or Italy and Spain in addition to the 16 other passes already available (Austria – Croatia/Slovenia; Austria – Czech Republic; Austria – Germany; Austria – Switzerland; Benelux – France; Benelux – Germany; Denmark – Germany; France – Germany; France – Italy; France – Spain; France – Switzerland; Germany – Switzerland; Greece – Italy; Hungary – Croatia/Slovenia; Hungary – Romania, and Portugal – Spain).

“Eurail is expanding its range of passes to match the way Americans travel today,” said Rene de Groot, Eurail’s Managing Director. “With their vacations getting shorter and more frequent, Americans have less time for extended journeys throughout Europe, and our National and Regional passes allow them to comfortably explore one or two countries in depth in one vacation span. By adding new countries to the range, we are giving our customers more choice”.

In addition to the Eurail National and Regional Passes, Eurail continues to offer the Eurail Select Pass as well as the original Eurailpass (renamed Eurail Global Pass), covering a total of 18 countries.
