euromic adds three members in the European market

euromic, the oldest international consortium of companies specializing in MICE travel has admitted three new members into its invitation-only association: Colours of Malta, Portugal Travel Team and Paloma Tours of Romania. The destination management companies were officially inducted at euromic’s 2012 Annual General Meeting, which was held in early January in Aqaba, Jordan.

“We are thrilled to welcome Colours of Malta, Portugal Travel Team and Paloma Tours as euromic members,” says Mr. Giancarlo Carrera, President of euromic. “It is a privilege to have these experienced and imaginative companies as a part of our organization.”

"euromic is the most reputable association of DMCs in the world. Being invited to join this association is an honor and a privilege and our team is extremely proud of now belonging to this exceptional group," says Eduarda Neves, Managing Director of Portugal Travel Team. "We are extremely proud to be members of euromic and we look forward to networking with professionals," echoes Davide Cachia of Colours of Malta.

"Becoming a part of euromic is a great experience for us as we join a strong family of professionals. We will be honored to welcome new visitors to Romania through this alliance, as more and more people discover this "new" destination of Europe," says Theodor Badiu, Managing Director of Paloma Tours.

Malta has received record amounts of visitors in recent years – in 2011 tourism was up 6% over 2010. Many are flocking to this island nation due to its fascinating history, ease of access, safety, warm Mediterranean climate and English-speaking people.

Portugal has similarly been drawing increasing numbers of travelers, especially Americans – Portugal tourism’s second largest growth market. With an extended Atlantic coastline, Portugal is noted for its beauty, casual way of life, excellent cuisine and history.

From Bucharest to the Black Sea coast and the Carpathian mountains, Romania offers a large variety of natural landscapes and experiences for the visitor. The destination is seeing a surge in foreign interest due to the new strategic focus the country has placed on developing its tourism infrastructure.

“Our association prides itself on top quality and the best professional service in the field of events, group travel, meetings, incentives and conventions,” says Mr. Carrera. “These companies possess these qualities and are sure to provide our valued clients with excellent destination services.”
