NEW ORLEANS – Within easy walking distance of the French Quarter. Wonderful hospitality. Excellent hotel bar and restaurant. Large rooms with great views.

Guests who have stayed at JW Marriott New Orleans have spoken, and the world's largest travel site has taken notice of these glowing reviews that make planning a trip to the Big Easy even better.

TripAdvisor, with 350 million reviews covering more than 6.5 million accommodations, restaurants and attractions in 48 countries, has honored the French Quarter hotel near Jackson Square with a 2016 Certificate of Excellence award. The prestigious accolade, now in its sixth year, takes into account the quality, quantity and recency of guest opinions submitted over a 12-month period. To receive the award, the hotel in New Orleans Business District maintained an overall TripAdvisor rating of at least four out of five, had a required number of reviews and was listed on the site for at least 12 months. Twenty-five percent of all winners this year are accommodations that range from one-room bed and breakfasts to 600-room hotels. The other 75 percent consist of local and national restaurants and popular attractions.

"When it comes to timeless luxury, there's no better place for visitors to stay than with us," said Ted Selogie, general manager of the JW hotel. "It gives me great joy knowing that our popular steakhouse, celebrated location, rich rooms with state-of-the-art amenities, and knowledgeable team set the tone for so many of our guests' delightful visits to this great city. We will continue to let the good times roll while catering to our guests' every desire."

From value and location to rooms, cleanliness and service, the four-star hotel on Canal Street scored well among travelers, ranking No. 42 of 158 hotels in New Orleans on TripAdvisor. "Despite the bustling activities outside the hotel, it is quiet and relaxing inside," wrote TripAdvisor contributor Don W. of Gloucester, MA. The hotel's great location to casinos, museums and Bourbon Street and "sophisticated ambience that's reminiscent of a boutique hotel" are also pointed out in previous guest reviews.

To celebrate, the hotel wants to give travelers a chance to join Marriott Rewards to take part in the 2016 Summer Global Promotion. Members will receive the lowest available rates when they book directly at Marriott.com as well as earn 2,000 bonus points on every paid summer stay, starting with a second stay, through Sept. 5, 2016. Visitors also will have the opportunity to win up to 100,000 bonus points when entering Marriott's summer sweepstakes. It's free to become a Marriott Rewards member and easy to register.
