New restaurant to debut within historic, luxury boutique hotel in city's arts district.
HANOVER, MASS. – Linchris Hotel Corporation, a hotel management company located in Hanover, MA, announced the acquisition of Hotel Providence in Providence, RI, for an undisclosed amount. The new ownership represents an exciting new chapter for this 80-room historic, luxury boutique hotel, originally built in 1882 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places. In January, detailed plans for a new restaurant will be revealed with a grand opening planned for later in the month.

“Hotel Providence is a beautiful hotel located in the heart of the city’s vibrant arts and entertainment district,” said newly appointed general manager Kelly Lajoie. “I look forward to joining the Providence community and raising service levels to the high standard befitting the sophisticated clientele that is drawn to the City of Providence and, in particular, this vital neighborhood.”
A hospitality industry veteran, Lajoie has been with Linchris for over 10 years and has served as GM for hotels throughout New England and southern states.
According to Lajoie, the restaurant within the hotel will operate temporarily as The Restaurant at Hotel Providence. In late January, restaurateurs Alethia and Massimiliano Mariotta will transform the 96-seat restaurant into a chef-driven European brasserie concept. The Mariotta’s are the owners of Vinya, a Barcelona Tapas-style restaurant located just three blocks from the hotel.
Hotel Providence has been the proud recipient of AAA’s Four Diamond Award for ten consecutive years and boasts an acclaimed art collection and many period touches while offering the latest in modern amenities. The hotel features over 5,000 square feet of meeting and event space, including a tented rooftop terrace and enchanting courtyard.
Founded in 1985, Linchris Hotel Corporation currently owns and manages 36 hotels and has a significant regional presence.
