Millennium Hotels and Resorts announces brand-wide renovations

Refurbishments planned across North American properties.

NEW YORK – Following a $22 million refurbishment to Millennium Hotel Minneapolis in 2013 and $30 million injected into the debut of a luxury West Tower at ONE UN New York the previous year, Millennium Hotels and Resorts continues to make investments across the brand to renovate its properties in North America. Millennium hotels in Anchorage, Buffalo, Boulder and Scottsdale will each be receiving phased upgrades ranging from total rooms renovations to restaurant and public areas as well as exteriors throughout 2014.

Millennium Resort and Villas Scottsdale‘s 125 rooms along with public spaces such as the lobby and building exteriors will see renovations completed by the Fall. Designed to reflect local natural tones and capture a modern, relaxed setting, the transformation to the guest rooms will take place in two phases over spring and summer.

At Millennium Harvest House Boulder, renovations this winter/spring will focus on 100 guest rooms including eight suites in the Main Tower. Upon completion, suites will offer kitchenettes while accommodations will feature larger, remodeled bathrooms, new furnishings and soft goods. The refresh will also be seen throughout the hotel’s public areas and its two restaurants, Coaches Corner Sports Bar and Thyme on the Creek. With a redesigned wireless infrastructure, guests will experience faster Internet service within the public areas, guest rooms, and meetings facilities.

At Millennium Hotel Buffalo, refurbishments will encompass complete upgrades to all 300 guest rooms, 66 of which will be converted to Club Rooms with enhanced features. Public spaces, meeting rooms as well as redesigned restaurants are also slated for completion by end 2014.

At Millennium Alaskan Hotel Anchorage, Phase II renovations were recently completed to the entire conference center space including upgrades to soft goods as well as audio-visual. Meeting spaces showcase imagery of local talents including an exhibit in the ballroom focusing on Joe Redington, founder of the popular Iditarod Sled Dog Race.

The design of the conference center focuses on a rich Alaskan lodge feel and is a complement to the recently renovated public spaces including the lobby, Fancy Moose Bar, Flying Machine Restaurant as well as the Deck at Lake Hood which overlooks Lake Spenard, the world’s busiest floatplane lake. Guest room renovations plans are being developed and are expected to take place by year end.

“Over the next 12 to 18 months, it is our goal to make a significant investment in upgrading all of the properties in our North American portfolio,” said Colin Wang, Regional General Manager, North America. “In addition to Boulder, Buffalo, Scottsdale and Anchorage, we look forward to announcing renovation plans for more hotels in the very near future.”
