PREDICT Conference features new format

This year, Predict takes on a new energized, fast-paced format – that of an action packed financial news show featuring lively interviews, substantive conversations and provocative discussions, providing economic insights and new perspectives about the exhibition industry.

DALLAS – The Center for Exhibition Industry Research (CEIR) announces its fourth annual industry outlook conference, Predict, to be held on 11 September 2014 at the Intercontinental Hotel Chicago. This executive-level, one-day event is a highly-intensive and interactive program where speakers will engage attendees by providing a forecast for the CEIR Index’s 14 industry sectors for the remainder of this year and through 2016.

In today’s economy, leaders must be strategic, adaptable, and able to quickly respond to changing market dynamics. Peer learning and information exchange will help leaders in the industry to better respond and plan for the coming year. Experts will address the global economy and its impact on the exhibition industry, M&A and lending, how major sectors are faring and what issues and challenges might be expected.

CEIR’s Predict Conference has become an event that exhibition industry executives know they can count upon for their short- and long-term strategic planning,” says CEIR President & CEO Brian Casey, CEM. “The past three years have shown that the information presented is spot-on in terms of accuracy and predictive measure.”

This year, Predict takes on a new energized, fast-paced format – that of an action packed financial news show featuring lively interviews, substantive conversations and provocative discussions, providing economic insights and new perspectives about the exhibition industry. The focus point will be the CEIR Index and the 2014 CEIR Index Report: 2013 Results, which provides an objective measure of the annual performance of the exhibition industry by measuring year-over-year changes in four key metrics: NSF of exhibit space sold, professional attendance, number of exhibiting companies and total event gross revenue. It details performance for 14 industry sectors and the overall industry using data from 2000 through 2013, with a predictive forecast through 2016.

Ron InsanaPredict will be hosted by Ron Insana, senior analyst at CNBC and financial industry expert. As the U.S. and global economies move toward recovery, Insana applies his journalistic perspective to how Wall Street, Main Street and Washington shape what the new “normal” means for all of us. A financial journalist who stands alone among his peers in having the experience of working for and running his own hedge fund, he offers clear, unvarnished insights on the ever-changing status of the economy.

Currently host of a nationally-syndicated daily radio show and a senior analyst and commentator for CNBC, Insana has access to all of the top financial players in Washington as well as on Wall Street and translates the market signals and political maneuvers into information everyone understands. His hands-on experience in the financial industry – through some of the markets’ most turbulent times – gives an added depth of perspective that few analysts can match. He offers practical advice on what individuals and businesses can and should do now to protect what they have, and to find opportunities in any type of market condition. Insana is the author of Traders’ Tales, The Message of the Markets, TrendWatching, and most recently, How to Make a Fortune from the Biggest Bailout in U.S. History: A Guide to the 7 Greatest Bargains from Main Street to Wall Street.

This year’s new format promises to elevate the event to a new level and better reflects the power of the data presented at Predict,” notes 2014 CEIR Predict Task Force Committee Chair Chris Brown, executive vice president, Conventions & Business Operations, National Broadcasting Association. “Ron’s knowledge and experience in the financial industry will inject a new layer of insight for exhibition executives to apply to their strategic thought process.”

Also serving on the task force are David Audrain, CEM, president & CEO, Exposition Development Company, Inc.; Don Pazour, CEO, Access Intelligence LLC; and Robert Priest-Heck, chief operating officer, Freeman.

The application and registration process is now open at www.ceir.org/predict. To learn more about Predict, watch what attendees had to say by clicking here.
