Silver Airways adds new EAS routes from Washington Dulles and Atlanta

Silver Airways announced that it will expand its Essential Air Service (EAS) routes in 2012 with the addition of new scheduled passenger service from Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD) and Hartsfied-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL). Dulles routes are being launched as part of Silver Airways’ ongoing codeshare agreement with United Airlines, while Atlanta service will operate under a new close interline relationship with Delta Air Lines.

From Dulles, Silver Airways will serve four communities in West Virginia and two in Pennsylvania as follows:
– West Virginia – Beckley (BKW), Clarksburg (CKB), Lewisburg (LWB) and Morgantown (MGW)
– Pennsylvania – Altoona (AOO) and Johnstown (JST)

From Atlanta, Silver Airways will serve three communities in Mississippi and one each in Alabama and West Virginia as follows:
– Mississippi – Greenville (GLH), Tupelo (TUP), and Laurel/Hattiesburg (PIB)
– Alabama – Muscle Shoals (MSL)
– West Virginia – Lewisburg (LWB)

Darrell Richardson, CEO of Silver Airways, commented on the new routes, saying: “All of us at Silver Airways are excited to build upon the success we’ve had operating EAS routes in Montana and the Northeast by bringing much-needed air service to these under-served communities. We look forward to serving the traveling public in these areas with the same quality air service that customers across our route network have come to expect and trust.”

Silver Airways has operated EAS service from Billings to seven gateways throughout Montana since May 2011.  The carrier also serves six communities in New York, Pennsylvania and West Virginia from Cleveland under the EAS program.

Silver Airways anticipates that Dulles flights will begin in summer 2012, while Atlanta service will launch in the fall. In both markets, Silver Airways will deploy state-of-the-art Saab 340Bplus aircraft, featuring comfortable seating for 34 passengers, large, easy-to-access overhead bins, personalized flight attendant service, an active noise reduction system and on-board lavatories.
