Szczawnica Health Resort (Poland) is enriched with Pieniny Grand

Pieniny Grand means the most innovative solutions and a new quality in the offer of Szczawnica Health Resort. A perfectly designed eco-friendly building is being constructed in the place of the former Hutnik Hotel.

This summer Szczawnica Health Resort (Poland) will be enriched with Pieniny Grand – a new complex of the Thermaleo & Uzdrowisko Szczawnica Group. A building with mirrored external walls will accommodate 119 rooms in a four-star standard, a luxurious SPA zone with a medical area, 2 restaurants and conference rooms. A modern and ecological tower rises on the hill of the Upper Park (Park Glowny), which is the centre of the town.

Pieniny Grand is another element of the large-scale revitalization which for 14 years the Mankowski family have been carrying out. The family are the descendants of count Adam Stadnicki – a modernizer and a popularizer of Szczawnica Health Resort. As part of the activities of the Mankowski family, the unique historic architecture of the town is being gradually restored. Up till now the following locations have been reconstructed or renovated: Jozef Dietl Square, Mineral Water Pump Gallery, Cafe Helenka, Willa pod Modrzewiami (Villa under the Larches), Willa Marta (Villa Marta), Museum of the Health Resort and the famous Dworek Goscinny (Guest Manor House). In cooperation with the town authorities, the revitalization project of the Lower and Upper Park was also carried out. The revitalization of the Szczawnica resort is still underway, and the gradual restoration of other buildings is planned for the coming years. Another facility undergoing a thorough renovation is Hutnik Hotel, which, after the works have been finished, will obtain a new life as Pieniny Grand.

Pieniny Grand means the most innovative solutions and a new quality in the offer of Szczawnica Health Resort. A perfectly designed eco-friendly building is being constructed in the place of the former Hutnik Hotel. The new complex stands out not only from Szczawnica’s facilities, but also from those on the “hotel map” in Poland. That twelve-storeyed building combines modern design with subtle details based on tradition and local folklore. At the very top of the building there will be Sky Bar, which will allow the guests to enjoy a panoramic view of the Pieniny mountains. The complex will combine several functions – a business centre, a modern SPA focused on the holistic approach to the needs of its guests and a unique holiday place for everyone, also for persons with disabilities. In order to meet the needs of the last-named group, specially designed rooms have been prepared.

The SPA zone will occupy 2000 m2 and it will include medical and treatment rooms, fitness facilities, as well as a pool zone with a characteristic high vault, more reminiscent of a cathedral than a recreational facility. The interior design and the infrastructure are meant to put a visitor in a state of deep relaxation. SPA will offer treatments regarding both conventional and unconventional medicine, individually selected by doctors and specialists for each guest. The SPA portfolio will also include comprehensive regeneration programs for athletes.

The complex, together with the remaining infrastructure of Szczawnica Health Resort, will also provide a conference and accommodation base, which will allow organizing a full range of events – from the presentation of new products, through corporate team building trips, to congresses.

The conclusion of the construction works is planned for the third quarter of 2019.

The functioning of the Thermaleo & Uzdrowisko Szczawnica Group refers to the ideas lying behind the work of the former owner of the health resort – count Adam Stadnicki, the ancestor of the present owners, the Mankowski family. The current plan is based on the concept of creating in Szczawnica a health resort with a full range of treatments and with the access to comfortable sanatoria, as well as with a rich infrastructure, which would include restaurants and hotels offering the highest standard of services.

The Group’s activities are focused on the hotel, catering and tourist sectors. Broad activeness regarding the patronage of the arts and the development of culture, as well as the support and promotion of regional heritage is also very important for the Group. The Group also supports the development of local athletes and sports clubs. Besides, it actively participates in the revitalization of the town as a health resort.

The intense investment activity of the owners brought to the health resort many significant projects, which have been implemented over the last 12 years. Thanks to those actions, Szczawnica Health Resort has become the heart of the Pieniny mountains from the perspective of the tourist industry and it continuous to develop its qualities as a health resort.
