Tarom: 1,53 m. passengers in the first ten months

In the first ten months of 2008, Tarom airline transported 1,53 mil. passengers, 8.4% higher than the same period last year, ranking 8th at European level, while in October, the customers flow dropped 5.6% according to Association of European Airlines (AEA). In January-October, Tarom registered an occupancy rate of 63.3%, dropping 5.6% compared to the similar period in 2007.

Regarding the numbers of passengers, Tarom occupies the 24th position from 32 European operators included in the statistics. In October, Tarom transported 151,200 passengers and had an occupancy rate of 58%, 8.2% lower.

AEA includes 35 European airline operators, annually transporting approximately 380 mil. persons and 7 mil. tones of goods, owning in total 2,660 aircrafts flying towards 615 destinations in 165 countries. AEA member companies have a total turnover of EUR 79 bn. per year.
