The Dearborn Inn, a Marriott Hotel puts a fresh face on historic homes

Built as precise exterior replicas of the homes of famous early Americans such as Walt Whitman, Edgar Allan Poe and Patrick Henry, the interiors comprise a total of five guest rooms and 15 suites.

DETROIT – The Dearborn Inn, A Marriott Hotel has earned state and federal recognition as a landmark hotel, in part because of the unique characteristics of its nine-building campus. One such attribute is the collection of five historic homes that represent the inn’s Colonial Home Village. Built as precise exterior replicas of the homes of famous early Americans such as Walt Whitman, Edgar Allan Poe and Patrick Henry, the interiors comprise a total of five guest rooms and 15 suites. All of these accommodations have recently been updated, retaining their period style while providing modern comforts and conveniences.

Improvements to this memorable Detroit area lodging facility include:

  • Updated interior finishes including carpets, paint, window treatments and bathroom vinyl
  • New furnishings and bedding were added to the existing replica furniture and antiques, giving each room and suite a unique look and feel.
  • 37-inch flat screen High Definition TVs were installed in all bedrooms and suite parlors

With refreshing enhancements, the Colonial guest homes at the historic hotel in Detroit’s metro area will still evoke a traditional, cottage-like charm, making them ideal bed and breakfast-style accommodations for romantic weekend getaways, honeymoon stays, and unique family vacations.
