The Hoxton, Chicago opens April 2019

The brand’s second new-build property, The Hoxton, Chicago will make its home in the city’s Fulton Market District, on a site that was once occupied by a meatpacker.

CHICAGO – Bookings for The Hoxton, Chicago are now open. Set to open in April, The Hoxton, Chicago comes as the third new property in North America, following the success of The Hoxton, Williamsburg which opened its doors in September 2018, and The Hoxton, Portland, which opened in November 2018.

The brand’s second new-build property, The Hoxton, Chicago will make its home in the city’s Fulton Market District, on a site that was once occupied by a meatpacker. The bustling neighborhood is home to an exciting food and drink scene, and a number of independent boutiques.

The property will boast a number of “firsts” for the brand, notably, the first location for The Hoxton’s new coworking brand. Set over two floors, this will take the best of the brand’s much-loved ‘lobby culture’ and bring it into a dedicated work space. For freelancers, small businesses and travelers who are looking for desk space or a meeting room, this coworking space will welcome members, with plenty of perks. It will open later in the year, along with a second outpost in Southwark, London.

In addition, The Hoxton, Chicago will be the home of the brand’s first wellness studio, with rotating programming, as well as a retail unit on the ground level, housing new and noteworthy brands. For guests who are looking to get outside the hotel and into the deep end, The Hoxton, Chicago will debut the brand’s first rooftop pool this summer.

The 182 bedrooms come in three types: Snug, Roomy and Cosy. Designed by Ennismore Design Studio, the rooms draw inspiration from the area's industrial past with concrete ceilings and warehouse-style windows, alongside mid-century furniture, custom-designed rugs and locally sourced artwork. Ennismore Design Studio is collaborating with AvroKO, the award-winning design studio behind Chicago hot-spots like Duck Duck Goat, Somerset and the upcoming Aster Hall, to design the communal areas which will have a welcoming open-door policy, and act as a lively meeting spot, with food and drink available morning ‘til night.

Ennismore is partnering with local hospitality group, Boka Restaurant Group (Girl & The Goat, Boka, Momotaro, Bellemore) for the bars and restaurants across the hotel. The hotel’s rooftop will offer a year-round, open-air Peruvian-inspired restaurant and bar called Cabra, helmed by renowned Chicago Chef Stephanie Izard. In addition to Cabra, there will be two other dining venues: a ground floor modern-Mediterranean restaurant called Cira will offer relaxed all-day dining by Chef Chris Pandel, and a destination basement bar will be a great spot for cocktails ‘til late.

The Apartment, the unique meeting and events space which features in every Hoxton hotel, will be located on the mezzanine, with five rooms set around a communal Pantry Kitchen.

The Hox Friends program will be rolled out at The Hoxton, Chicago, following its success in Paris, Williamsburg and Portland. This initiative is designed to further connect with the community and bring local culture into the bedrooms for guests to enjoy and discover. In Chicago, 182 handpicked locals have each chosen a selection of books that will feature on the bookshelves of the 182 bedrooms. Hox Friends will be profiled on the dedicated Instagram page, @hoxfriends, which acts as an insider guide for guests to help facilitate discovery of the Hoxton’s neighborhoods.
