The Oetker Collection and The Mustique Company appoint Considerate Hoteliers to drive forward CSR best practice

Eden Rock, St Barths on the French West Indies.

Considerate Hoteliers has already been undertaking some work for the Oetker Collection, including holding ‘Green Team’ workshops for the Lanesborough, Brenner’s Park Hotel and Fregate Island as well as monitoring and benchmarking carbon outputs through its data management tool Con-Serve.

Considerate Hoteliers has been appointed by two luxury hospitality brands to drive forward their corporate social responsibility programmes.

Considerate Hoteliers will be driving the CSR strategy tailored to each of the Oetker Collection’s nine five-star hotels worldwide, which include The Lanesborough in London, Le Bristol in Paris and Eden Rock, St Barths on the French West Indies.

The organisation will also be providing CSR support that will enable The Mustique Company, the management organisation responsible for the Caribbean island’s Cotton House hotel and 100 privately owned villas, to reach its goal of becoming carbon neutral by 2022.

Both appointments reflect the brands’ focus on conservation and their intention to place CSR at the heart of their operations to help reduce their carbon footprint and develop more robust, sustainable ethical initiatives.

This latest appointment now hands the organisation a remit that extends right across the hotel collection and through all departements.

The scope of work will include developing targets aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, establishing a reporting structure for resource consumption, instigating practical steps resulting in more sustainable purchasing and waste reduction.

Similar work will be undertaken for The Mustique Company.

Xenia zu Hohenlohe, business partner of Considerate Hoteliers says: “Both the Oetker Collection and The Mustique Company have been serious about the environment and supporting local communities for some time now. Our appointment will take this a step further, with the objective of demonstrating that fine living and luxury need not be at the expense of the environment and ethical behaviours.”
