After last year`s epic snowfalls, followed by what will likely be the busiest summer season ever, excitement mounts in North America`s premiere mountain resort destination. We broke snowfall records last January, and we had the highest number of visitors ever from our regional markets, says Ian Dunn, Director of Marketing Services. We`re just launching our early booking package offers for winter, and with the amazing value, terrain variety, reliable snow and unmatchable vibe found only in Whistler, we`re counting on an even better winter this year.

While fall visitors are still biking, golfing and hiking the days away, work crews are busy atop Whistler Mountain installing Whistler Blackcomb`s newest high speed detachable quad chairlift. The new Symphony Express Lift will run from the bottom of Flute Bowl to the peak of Piccolo, offering intermediate skiers and riders access to more than 1,000 acres of legendary vast bowls, deep snow and intermediate-friendly gladed skiing in the newly crowned Symphony Amphitheatre zone.

Back down in the valley, Whistler`s newest boutique hotel Nita Lake Lodge is taking shape beside a picturesque lake in Whistler`s original village, the Creekside area.

Off the slopes, one of Whistler`s most popular adrenaline activities goes bigger, higher and better. Ziptrek Ecotours has added five new ziplines and a new tour that will have thrill seeking guests whisking from high in the treetops to within a snowball`s throw of apres patios in the heart of Whistler village.

With its major expansion and relocation to the TELUS Whistler Conference Centre, the Great Wall Climbing Adventures will offer an all-season climbing and fitness facility, complete with a kids adventure zone offering a maze of tunnels, ladders and slides.

Winter 2007 marks the three-year countdown to the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games in Whistler and Vancouver. Venue development is well underway, including the Whistler Sliding Centre on Blackcomb Mountain, the Whistler Nordic Centre in the Callaghan Valley, and the Athlete`s Village located at the southern end of Whistler valley. Guests can ski the men`s and women`s alpine race runs, or get the scoop at the popular 2010 Information Centre complete with Olympic and Paralympic flags, a real bobsled and a medals podium. In 2010, Whistler will host the nordic, alpine and sliding events for the 2010 Winter Games as well as nightly medals presentations and celebrations.
