TruTravels introduces affordable, fun Maldives trips for young travellers

Social adventure specialist responds to post-pandemic travel patterns with new tours.

The Maldives is probably better known as a romantic honeymoon destination than a haven for a small group of millennial and Gen Z travellers to hang out and have fun. The changing habits of young travellers has however led social adventure specialist, TruTravels, to add the exotic Indian Ocean destination to its portfolio of mind-blowing adventures for small groups of travellers looking to see the world and have a great time doing it.

With experiences such as sandbar parties, a barbecue dinner on a private island, spending time at a local conservation project and snorkelling with turtles, it’s the perfect answer for travellers looking to live out their best-life bucket list adventures in lesser-traversed locations.

Mark Pope, TruTravels co-founder, says the Maldives is pegged to be a popular choice, offering a wealth of Instagram-worthy locations, tucked away from the tourist hot-spots, all available at an attractive TruTravels price.

“There’s so much more to the Maldives than white sand beaches and luxury resorts – it’s an incredible place for a young group of people to connect with the local culture, and with each other. Our travellers are starving for social connections right now, so we’re stoked to be able to bring them all that goodness in one of the most spectacular locations in the world,” says Pope.

The two new trips (one Classic land-based tour and one SailVentures water-based tour) depart from January, 2022 with many inclusions covered such as accommodation, some meals (all meals while sailing, some meals on land), included activities, and a dedicated “Tru Ninja” tour guide / best travel friend throughout the trip.

TruTravels was acquired by G Adventures in 2018 but runs as a separate entity, retaining its unique brand identity and social style of travel.

TruTravels’ range of trips fall into four different styles of travel – the much-loved ‘Classic’ style of small-group social adventures, ‘FitVentures’ which caters to travellers seeking fitness-focused, wellbeing experiences, ‘Flashpacker’ for travellers looking to ‘keep it real’ with a splash of style and private accommodation, and ‘SailVentures’ that encourage travellers to live their best yacht life, combining exploration and action with ‘floatilla’ parties.

The two new Maldives trips join TruTravels’ current portfolio of 40 tours in 16 countries across Asia, South America and Europe.
