Uganda Airlines to soar with Hitit technology

Hitit signed a new partnership agreement with Uganda Airlines, this makes it the tenth airline in the continent over the past 5 years.

ISTANBUL / ENTEBBE – Hitit, a leading airline software company, announces a new partnership with Uganda Airlines. The nations flagship carrier which was rebirthed earlier this year is fully owned by the government of Uganda and is entering into the market with state-of-the-art Bombardier CRJ 900 aircraft to serve the region.

Hitit signed a new partnership agreement with Uganda Airlines, this makes it the tenth airline in the continent over the past 5 years. According to the partnership, Hitit provides a reservation and passenger service, an internet booking engine, a mobile application, and a departure control system to the returnee carrier. The systems transaction has been completed, and the flag-carrier has now started to operate with its new PSS powered by Hitit. Hitit’s fully-fledged web-based PSS solutions are designed with the latest web technologies, using Service Oriented Architecture (SOA), New Distribution Capability (IATA NDC level 4) and Software as a Service (SaaS) models.

Jenifer Bamuturaki, Commercial Director at Uganda Airlines, said about the partnership “As an Airline we are proud to work with a reputable firm like Hitit to develop a functional reservations and ticketing system. Our passengers will now be able to book for their tickets from the comfort of their homes or anywhere else in the world with this system.”

Uganda Airlines is strategically positioned within the region and will be able to serve customers within the region conveniently with their direct flights from Entebbe to destinations like Mogadishu, Nairobi, Dar es salam, Juba, Mombasa and Kilimanjaro.
