David Morneau named General Manager of Oceanfront Resort.
PISMO BEACH, CALIF. – Vespera Resort on Pismo Beach – a boutique oceanfront resort in Pismo Beach, Calif. – has announced a new management team with David Morneau taking the helm as the new general manager and Tara Johns assuming the position of assistant general manager.
According to Ian Pullan, vice president of asset performance, west for KSL Resorts, which operates Vespera Resort, Morneau will oversee all day-to-day operations at the 124-room beach resort, which opened in late 2019.
“Vespera Resort on Pismo Beach is now fully open, and we are thrilled to have both David and Tara join our talented team as we welcome guests,” said Pullan. “We are focused on enhancing the property’s positioning in the market, and David’s expertise in all facets of hotel operations as well as his keen eye for detail and knowledge of the region will be instrumental as we transform Vespera Resort into the premier Central Coast destination, replete with dynamic programming and engaging amenities.”
With more than 15 years of hospitality industry experience, Morneau was most recently director of rooms at the Ojai Valley Inn – a luxury resort in the mountains near Santa Barbara – and served in the same capacity at The Radisson Blu Aqua Hotel in Chicago. He began his career at Fairmont Hotels & Resorts and eventually worked his way up the ranks to director of housekeeping at the Fairmont Pittsburgh. He was also a contributing professor at Chicago’s Kendall College and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in hospitality management from Johnson & Wales University.
Johns will assist Morneau in the day-to-day operations of Vespera Resort. Previously she was the revenue manager at Monarch Beach Resort in Dana Point and was also with Omni Rancho Las Palmas Resort & Spa in Rancho Mirage for nine years where she worked in various capacities, including spa manager and director of the front office.
