ABTA hosts successful launch in Angola

ABTA has set up several online platforms to assist their Angolan Business Travel colleagues to stay abreast of developments in the region and to enable them to be active by participating in online industry discussions and enabling them to play a supportive role in helping to better shape the industry.

JOHANNESBURG, SOUTH AFRICA – The African Business Travel Association (ABTA) announced its successful launch in Luanda, Angola. The launch event was hosted at The Talatona Convention Hotel on 10 July 2013 and was attended by over 50 business travel delegates from across Angola. Delegates provided very positive feedback about the event and the rare opportunity for the business travel community to come together to share trends, challenges and opportunities in the region.

“We were very happy with the fantastic support and enthusiasm from the local business travel community,” said Monique Swart, ABTA Founder. She went on to say that although the region had many challenges and obstacles to overcome, the potential for exceptional growth in the Angolan Business Travel industry was evident.

“The three key themes that came out of the event as far as local challenges were the current issues with Visa processing both when entering and exiting Angola, the requirement for basic skills training to improve service delivery and the need for improved communication between travel agents and airlines. We are looking forward to assisting the local travel community with these issues and are currently working on strategies to provide support on these 3 key challenges” said Swart.

ABTA has set up several online platforms to assist their Angolan Business Travel colleagues to stay abreast of developments in the region and to enable them to be active by participating in online industry discussions and enabling them to play a supportive role in helping to better shape the industry.
