The Association of British Travel Agents (ABTA<.>) said recently in an announcement that it welcomed the halving of Air Passenger Duty (APD) within Europe, effective as of April 1, 2001. Air Passenger Duty, a tax slapped on all flights departing from airports within the United Kingdom, was lowered as part of the March 2000 Budget.
