Since last November, the Association of Canadian Travel Agencies (ACTA) has been involved with the BSP Canada review of the various agreements and processes surrounding the banking operations of BSP Canada. The review was conducted in order to clarify the interplay of BSP Canada`s agreements and processes related to the PACONF Resolutions as well as with other legislation applicable to travel agents. This review process became necessary subsequent to BSP Canada’s migration to its new ISIS platform.

This operation is now coming to an end. The key feature of the revised system is a new formal “Payor Authorization Agreement” (PAD) with respect to pre-authorized debit.

All agencies that wish to continue to benefit from the advantages of automated debiting will be asked to sign a copy of the agreement. The PAD Agreement should be sent out by BSP Canada later this week and we advise our members to read it, as well as the accompanying Communique, carefully, stated ACTA.

All Agents who wish to continue to benefit from the advantages of automated debiting are asked to execute this PAD Agreement prior to the date mentioned in the Communique. It is important to note that any Agent who does not return the new Agreement duly signed by the said date will be deemed to have executed the Agreement and will be bound by it. This PAD Agreement also includes an Opting out clause with a 21-day notice (the said limit date will take into account the 21-day notice delay), concluded ACTA.
