ABTA and the Federation of Tour Operators (FTO) has received notification that a 24 hour Air Traffic Controllers strike starting from 22.00 hrs BST or Midnight Greek is likely to go ahead. This will affect today all airports throughout Greece and customers due to fly to or from Greece during this time may face severe delays.

Eighty charter flights are due to operate to and from Greece during this period, so if the strike action goes ahead then approximately 18,000 holidaymakers will be affected.

The Federation of Tour Operators and the Association of British Travel Agents are working closely with the airlines, airports and hotels to minimise any disruption.

Tour Operators and travel agents however advise customers to check in as normal but to prepare for possible delays and if travelling with children to have toys/nappies/reading material etc in their hand luggage, along with any medical items they may need.
