The upcoming Asian Amusement Expo (AAE<.>) 2001 offers something for every professional in the amusement and leisure industry, from the region's largest annual exhibition of industry products and services to informative panels and workshops focusing on the "experience economy." AAE 2001 will run from July 11-13 at the Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre in Hong Kong.

The event is entering its 10th year and is co-sponsored by the conference and exhibition management firm, Terrapinn, the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA), and the American Amusement Machine Association (AAMA).

AAE 2001 consists of:

the largest annual amusement exhibition in Asia, with nearly 200 leading exhibitors spread out over more than 60,000 square feet of space;

the IAAPA Asian Amusement Management School, featuring workshops that demonstrate how to effectively train personnel to provide guests with a wonderful "experience;"

the Leisure & Entertainment Asia Conference with expert panels and keynote speakers discussing the secrets to success in the "experience economy."

"IAAPA is once again pleased to be an integral part of this important event," stated John Graff, IAAPA's CEO. "The Asian amusement industry continues to mature and diversify, and the AAE is a key component in our efforts to serve that industry.

For industry buyers and sellers, the exhibition at AAE 2001 is a crucial entry point to the region's amusement, leisure, and entertainment sectors. The showfloor will contain the latest offerings of numerous manufacturers and suppliers. Recent research indicates that 83 percent of AAE buyers have purchasing authority and that 72 percent intend to use that authority while on-site.

For those facility owners and operators wanting to upgrade their employee training programs, the two and a half day IAAPA Amusement Management School will do just that. Divided into five courses including recruitment & selection, risk management, and supervisory skills, the school will use a mixture of exercises to maximize learning and retention. Graduates will receive a full set of reference materials and a certificate of completion.
