ASTA announces ACTA Day at World Congress

The American Society of Travel Agents (ASTA) announced a special partnership with The Association of Canadian Travel Agencies

The American Society of Travel Agents (ASTA) announced a special partnership with The Association of Canadian Travel Agencies (ACTA) at the ASTA World Travel Congress in Montreal, Nov. 6-11, 2005. ASTA will sponsor ACTA Day on Tuesday Nov. 8, 2005, which will include a day of seminars on Canadian travel and an evening event.

All ACTA members will be offered a special two-day Congress pass at a price of $122 CAD or will be able to buy a full week pass at the ASTA member price of $299.

Montreal Congress Chair, Deb S. Mangas, CTC said, I`m thrilled to have ACTA members join Congress for the day. I believe the more the industry works together, the better understanding we will have of our specific needs and the better we can provide the support, education and networking to assist both ACTA and ASTA members.

ACTA`s Vice-president of Public Affairs and General Manager of Eastern Canada, Christiane Theberge said, The ACTA Day will offer Canadian travel agents a great mix of flavors: education, networking and last, but not least, fun within the ASTA World Congress in Montreal. It is very important to offer our colleagues, members of ASTA, a very warm welcome to our country and to add our zest of flavor to the special taste of Montreal. After all, we have to be part of `the travel event of the year.

ACTA Day will start off with a morning panel discussion on Innovative Retail Models & Strategies. The afternoon events will consist of a Tralliance Presentation on Dot.Travel and ACTA`s Quebec General Assembly. The day will close with an event in downtown Montreal.
