On June 11, 2007, ASTA will hold its first Business Summit, a roundtable event for Premium Members to discuss the critical issues that affect their businesses and the industry as a whole. The one-day forum, held in Washington D.C. at Marriott’s Renaissance M Street Hotel, is being held in conjunction with ASTA’s Legislative Day on June 12.

“The opportunity to participate in a business summit of this caliber is a phenomenal chance for today’s business leaders to get to the heart of the issues that will dramatically impact the travel industry in the coming years,” said ASTA Executive Vice President and COO Bill Maloney, CTC.

On the table will be such topics as regulators’ renewed interest in auditing businesses with independent contractors, the airlines’ renewed discussions on reducing or passing on credit card merchant fees, ARC’s movement toward same-day reporting and the shortage of qualified travel agents. Among the invited speakers are Chris Kroeger, senior vice president of the North American division of Sabre Travel Network, and Mike Premo, vice president of sales and customer relations for the Airlines Reporting Corp. (ARC).
